Huntsville, AL (Nov. 12, 2019) – The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama (GSNCA) has named LSINC CEO Alicia Ryan one of the five 2019 Women of Distinction. This distinction will be celebrated on November 12, 2019 at the Jackson Center in Huntsville, AL as part of the One Smart Cookie event.
The One Smart Cookie event is a night to view the work of and celebrate the true G.I.R.L.S. (Go-Getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, and Leaders) of today and tomorrow. The event will take place at the Jackson Center in Huntsville, AL on November 12th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. It will showcase girl-led projects from the North-Central Alabama community and honor the women making a difference in the world through the five Women of Distinction and the Christine Richard Lifetime Achievement Award.
This event serves to further the GSNCA’s mission to “build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place” by fostering opportunities for them to show how they are making a difference as well as connect with other G.I.R.L.s of today and tomorrow.
Alicia Ryan is honored to have been chosen as one of the Women of Distinction to inspire these G.I.R.L.s of tomorrow by her accomplishments and example, “I am incredibly grateful that my work can inspire our future leaders. I believe that our girls can and will become tomorrow’s powerhouses of change and innovation if we will encourage and help them cultivate their talents today.”
Alicia Ryan will formally accept her 2019 Woman of Distinction Award alongside the four other honorees at GSNCA’s One Smart Cookie event this evening.
